Meet the Kirby landscaping team!
Charles Kirby Jr.
President
Since mowing lawns to pay for school in his early 20’s, customer satisfaction has always been Charles’ top priority. In fact, many of his original customers are still with us! “Kirby’s does such a good job and always cares about the final product” is common to hear from our customers. Charles strives for Kirby’s to be the best, most reliable landscaping company in the Richmond area. When Charles isn’t designing outdoor living spaces and going above and beyond for customers (he has changed attic light bulbs while meeting to discuss a patio project!), he enjoys Salsa dancing with his wife, supporting his oldest daughter’s volleyball talents and fishing with his youngest daughter.
Shannon Edwards
Operations Coordinator
Shannon came to Kirby’s because of her unique passion for plants nurtured by years of greenhouse management. Shannon serves as the main point of contact at Kirby’s Landscaping. If she can’t answer a question, she will get you in contact with our team of professionals to solve your problems. Shannon also assists clients by setting up appointments, managing projects, scheduling nutrition and irrigation services, and writing our bi-monthly educational newsletter.
Anna Best
VSLD Certified Landscape Designer
Anna is the landscape designer, sales person, and installation project manager. She is our plant guru and place-maker. She stewards your project from start to finish. She will pinpoint your goals, suggest an appropriate solution, design a new plan (hardscapes and planting plans), estimate the cost of installation, and manage the installation of your new outdoor room. Anna’s mission is to analyze landscapes, save what’s working, heal what’s hurting, eliminate harmful habits, and empower people with realistic tools to heal and beautify their landscapes. Her vision is to foster a world where every living thing has a garden where it can grow and express its gifts. Before she became a landscape designer, Anna was a geologist, an environmental scientist, and a bicycle tour guide. While she’s not working to strengthen the bond between you and your place, Anna walks in the woods, paddles local rivers, and spends time with family.
Ashley Teucke
Maintenance Accounts Manager
Ashley Teucke is an environmentalist at her core. She’s never walked past a piece of litter in her life without picking it up. It’s this care for Mother Nature that led her to managing lawns and gardens for Kirby’s Landscaping. After numerous desk jobs post-college, she was ready to get outside. Organic farming gave her the fundamental knowledge of how to grow almost anything and she has since applied this knowledge to help Kirby’s customers have a lush green yard and beautifully happy plants.
Candace Kirby
Office Manager
Charles and Candace met line dancing at a local spot in the late 90’s and ever since Charles won her heart, Candace has been an essential part of Kirby’s Landscaping. When Candace isn’t at the office she can be found running, running, and running. She’s an avid marathon enthusiast and has completed 16 marathons! She loves spending time with her kids and taking long evening strolls with the family dog, Ruby.
